Jingle Bells tune by Room 35

Well done Room 35, some really great ideas from our lesson today. Have fun singing!

Class 35’s rendition of Jingle Bells 2013

5,4,3,2,1

The day is yet to come

Putting bells on trees

What a sight for me

Yummy yummy food

Spread  all over town

My neighbours are cooking mad

For everyone  around

Oh, Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

Santa Claus broke down on the high…….way

Hey, jingle bells jingle bells, jingle all the way

I got a rhino on Christmas day

Santa’s on his sleigh

Jingling all the way

Sliding down the chimney

Drinking all the beer

Carrots for the reindeers and

Christmas cake for Santa

Chocolates for the elves

As they work for more

Oh, Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

Santa’s on his sleigh and he’s coming your way, hey

Jingle bells, jingle bells , jingle all the way

Christmas in New Zealand on a rainy summer’s day

Santa’s in his sleigh

With Rudolf at the front

His elves are working hard

In Santa’s factory

Carrots for his deer’s

And cookies for himself

Christmas gifts for everyone

Especially the good kids

Oh, Santa Claus, Santa Claus, riding on his sleigh

All the deer’s in front of him, going all the way, hey

Santa Claus, Santa Claus, riding on his sleigh

Acting so mysterious, as he leaves all the gifts

Christmas trees are bright

Giving away all the light

Rudolf is nearly here

In the starry night

Santa’s on his way

With his heavy sleigh

Decorations on the tree

As we go for a ride

Oh, Ho ho ho, ho ho ho

Santa’s almost here

All he wants for Christmas is a wonderful cheer, hey

Ring ring ring , ring ring ring, Santa’s almost here

He’s coming in his sleigh with his nine reindeer.

I’ve been a naughty boy

I don’t really care

Even if I swear

Please bring my presents here

I’ve been a really nice girl

I put my hair in curls

I even brought my mum a pearl

And my friends are swirl

Oh, Naughty or nice naughty or nice, naughty all the way

If you be a naughty boy you will get no toys, hey

Naughty or nice naughty or nice, naughty all the way

If you be a nice girl you will get lots of presents hey

I am a naughty kid

And I don’t really care

I just want my Christmas presents

So please give them right here

Santa’s on his sleigh

The big 100kg man

He opens up the door

And shuts it with a slam

Oh, jingle bells, santa smells and Rudolf turned bright pink.

I broke through the window and give him a  big wink

Oh, jingle bells, santa smells and Rudolf turned bright pink

I just want my Christmas gifts and a stamp and some ink

Ploughing through the snow

In a two horse explosive sleigh

Elves are firing candy

and santa’s throwing chocolate

Children are getting defences

Reindeers are knocking down naughty kids houses

Parents are screaming

And naughty kinds are too

Santa’s bells , Santa’s bells Santa’s on his way

Maybe if you just behave he will come your way “)

Diver in a bottle

You will need: modelling clay, paperclip, bottle, pen lid and some water.

Steps :
1.  Make a shape of a modelling clay figure 3.5cm (1.25in) long.  Fix the paper-clip to its head and hang it from the pen top.  Fill the bottle with water and drop in the scuba diver.

2.  The pen top should float with its top just above the water level.  Make the figure bigger or smaller if needed.  Then pour in more water and screw the top on tightly.

What happens to the diver??

What happens when you squeeze the bottle?

Exploring snails

On the hunt for food for Garden to Table today we discovered some snails living on the plants. We dicussed why they were there and what some of the problems they would cause if we left them there.

To save the plants from being eaten we removed them using our hands and took them back to the class to explore them further.

Charlotte takes a really close look :)

Concentration - Ollie explores the foot of the snail.

After exploring the snails and thinking about them using I think, I see, I wonder we reused the sniails by feeding them to the hens.

Ichigo and Hayden work well as a team :)

Cooper and Augie solve a problem as a team

Mia gets busy solving a problem

I worked with Xuan to solve a problem that involved creating a repeating pattern.

Problem Solving

In room 35 this morning we got into partners to solve some problems that involved searching for a pattern.

We completed one as a class first.

Problem 1 - complete the following   1    2     4    ____   ____

Working in pairs we came up with a range of different solutions that could use this pattern

1.    1    2    4    5   7      Peru and Charlotte

2.     1  2   4     8    16        Ella, Augie and Zoe

3.     1    2   4     1     2       Cooper and Peryn

4.     1     2    4    16     256     Austin and William

Can you see what we did ??????

We also then had a go at solving some problems as a team, you will see video footage of this to follow :)

I wonder if he will fall!!

DNA is little parts in your body that is in each bubble that floats around in your body. You look like your parents and your siblings because they are sharing your DNA. Each DNA tell your life. For a example, if you are smart, you might have a DNA that makes you smart. Dna is so tiny that you can't even see it! If you don't have any DNA, you won't be alive. DNA is a very important part of your body. Ichigo

DNA contains all the infomation needed to build your body. Every cell in our body contains DNA. It stands for Deoxyribonucleic Acid. Did you know you have around 20,000 DNA genes in your body?

DNA is you.You are made of it.You  have your mother and your farthers DNA.so if your mum has brown eyes and your dad has blue eyes brown eyes win.So you would have brown eyes.you have a mix of your dads and a mix of your mums.DNA can be just one single hair.
